Spring 2024 | Figma | Illustrator
This project is a redesign of the Purdue Menus app, focused on improving clarity, navigation, and overall user experience. The goal was to make it easier for students to quickly find dining options, view menus, and understand what is available across campus locations.
Original App + Conflict Analysis
Before redesigning the Purdue Menus app, I analyzed the existing experience to identify areas that could be improved. The conflict analysis highlighted issues with navigation, information hierarchy, and the overall usability of the interface, helping me understand where students were likely to experience friction when looking for dining information.
User Persona
To better understand the experience from a student’s perspective, I developed a user persona based on a Purdue student who regularly uses the app. The persona helped identify common goals, frustrations, and behaviors when searching for dining options, allowing me to focus the redesign on making information easier to find and the overall experience more intuitive.
Wireframes
I started with low-fidelity wireframes to explore layout structure and user flow. This helped define how users move through the app, prioritize key information, and reduce unnecessary steps when accessing menus and dining locations.
Final Design
The style guide establishes the visual system for the app, including typography, color palette, and UI components. The design uses a clean and accessible approach to ensure consistency across screens while maintaining a simple, student-focused experience.
This project explores how small UX improvements can significantly improve everyday student interactions with campus resources.
