Synthetic Souls is a surreal movie poster design that explores the relationship between humanity and artificial identity. The project combines experimental visuals with immersive storytelling, blending organic and digital elements to create a futuristic, dreamlike atmosphere. In addition to the printed poster, an augmented reality (AR) experience brings the design to life through interactive motion and layered visuals.
Poster Variations
The concept behind Synthetic Souls centers on the idea of artificial beings developing human-like emotions. I wanted to visually represent the tension between what is real and what is constructed by combining surreal imagery, distorted forms, and futuristic elements. The design reflects a world where technology and identity merge, raising questions about consciousness, emotion, and authenticity.
Final Design
This project challenged me to think beyond traditional design formats and consider how viewers interact with visual work. Integrating AR allowed me to explore new creative possibilities and strengthened my ability to combine concept, design, and technology into a cohesive experience.
To expand the poster beyond a static format, I developed an augmented reality (AR) experience that activates when the design is scanned. The AR layer introduces motion, depth, and additional visual elements, allowing viewers to engage with the poster in an interactive way. This extension transforms the project into a multi-sensory experience, reinforcing the theme of merging physical and digital realities.
